Our Process

A transparent look at how every Wooten Junk Removal job gets done — from first call to final cleanup.

01

Contact Us & Describe the Job

The process starts with a quick phone call or an online quote request. When you reach out, we'll ask about the type and volume of items you need removed, your location within the Austin area, and your preferred timeline. Most jobs are straightforward to quote over the phone, though some larger or more complex cleanouts benefit from an on-site assessment.

You can reach us by phone at (737) 637-4143 or by email at info@wootenjunkremoval.com. We respond promptly — typically within a few hours during business hours. We're available Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm and Saturday through Sunday from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Tip: If you're unsure what you have or how much there is, a rough description and a couple of photos sent by text or email is usually enough to get you a ballpark estimate.

02

On-Site Assessment & Pricing

For larger jobs — full property cleanouts, estate cleanouts, or commercial projects — we conduct an on-site assessment before any work begins. A crew member visits the property, walks through the items to be removed, and provides a firm, all-inclusive quote.

Pricing is based primarily on the volume of material loaded into the truck, measured in fractions of a standard 15–16 cubic yard load. Item type also factors in, since appliances and electronics require different disposal handling than furniture or general debris. There are no charges for labor beyond the quoted price and no fuel surcharges added after the fact.

You are not obligated to proceed after receiving the on-site quote. If you agree to the price, the crew can typically start the same day. If you need more time to decide, we'll hold the quote and schedule a return visit.

What Affects the Price

  • Volume — how much truck space the material occupies
  • Item type — appliances and electronics have separate disposal fees
  • Difficulty of access — multi-story homes, tight spaces, or long carries
  • Overall load weight — heavy materials like concrete or tile are priced accordingly
03

Loading & Hauling

Once the quote is accepted, the crew gets to work. We use a truck and trailer capable of hauling up to a full 15 cubic yard load — equivalent to roughly 4–5 pickup truck loads — on a single trip. For very large jobs, we can schedule multiple truck runs.

Our crew handles all the physical labor. We carry items out of the space, including up and down stairs when needed. Doorframes, flooring, and walls are protected as much as possible. If there are fragile or delicate surfaces in the area, let us know ahead of time so we can take extra precautions.

Equipment used includes standard moving dollies, appliance dollies for heavy items, straps and blankets for items that need to be moved without damage to surrounding surfaces, and hand trucks for boxed or awkward loads. We do not use forklifts or heavy equipment on residential properties.

Most residential jobs are completed within 1–2 hours. Large property cleanouts may take a full day. We'll give you a time estimate when scheduling so you can plan accordingly.

04

Sorting for Donation & Recycling

After the truck is loaded, we sort the material before heading to the disposal facility. Usable furniture and household goods in reasonable condition are set aside for delivery to Austin-area donation centers including Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and local thrift stores that accept furniture donations.

Metal is separated for recycling at a licensed scrap yard. Electronics including televisions, computers, and small appliances are delivered to e-waste recycling facilities in compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) guidelines. Cardboard and paper are recycled when quantities justify it.

What remains after sorting — items too damaged, contaminated, or low-value to donate or recycle — is taken to a licensed Austin-area transfer station or landfill for proper disposal. We are familiar with Austin Resource Recovery's infrastructure and operate within the guidelines set for Travis County waste haulers.

We make diversion decisions based on real conditions. We don't donate damaged goods that will end up in another landfill. We recycle what we can, donate what makes sense, and dispose of the rest legally and responsibly.

05

Responsible Disposal

All waste that cannot be diverted is delivered to licensed disposal facilities in the Austin area. Wooten Junk Removal operates as a compliant waste hauler and disposes of materials in accordance with City of Austin and Travis County regulations. We do not illegally dump — ever.

Certain items carry regulated disposal requirements in Texas. Freon-containing appliances (refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers) must have refrigerant recovered by a certified technician before disposal. We handle this through licensed appliance recyclers who perform the required extraction before the unit is scrapped.

Hazardous materials including chemicals, paints, solvents, and medical waste cannot be accepted. If you have items in these categories, we'll let you know the appropriate Austin Resource Recovery drop-off locations for safe disposal.

06

Final Cleanup & Walkthrough

Once all items are loaded and the truck is ready to go, we do a quick sweep of the cleared area. We pick up any debris, dust, or small items left behind in the removal process. The goal is to leave the space broom-clean so you can use it immediately.

We'll walk through the cleared space with you before we leave to make sure you're satisfied with the result. If something was missed or if there's a concern about how the area looks, we address it on the spot. Payment is collected at the end of the job, after you've confirmed the work is complete.

We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. Payment is due at completion. For large commercial jobs, we can discuss invoicing arrangements in advance.
